The Ride

Sometime you start out thinking about one thing but then something else comes up.
When she lived by the ocean
She would walk two blocks
To pet the horse under the
Palm tree.
“What if a coconut falls on you?
Or a big, heavy frond?”
She borrowed her brother’s foam
Surfboard.
She caught her first wave
The wave pushed her to the shore
She forgot about the horse.
